In a significant crackdown on crime, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 98 individuals in various operations across the capital. The operations targeted crime-prone areas and included the recovery of 5.05 kilograms of cannabis and the detention of an alleged drug trafficker.
Extensive Operations Across Dhaka
Tejgaon Division played a crucial role in these operations, arresting 52 suspects during raids in several police station areas. Specifically, six suspects were detained from Tejgaon Police Station, 11 from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, 12 from Mohammadpur, eight from Adabar, three from Tejgaon Industrial Area, and 12 from Hatirjheel police stations.
In a separate operation, Mirpur Model Police Station arrested 35 individuals for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities, including suspects wanted in pending cases. Additionally, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station arrested 11 suspects in a special drive, including those wanted in warrant cases and other criminal offenses.
Drug Bust and Seizures
Shah Ali Police Station made a significant breakthrough by arresting an alleged drug dealer, Md Tushar Khalifa, 20, during an early morning raid near Mukta Bangla Shopping Complex. Police seized 5.05 kilograms of cannabis concealed inside a travel bag, along with a mobile phone.
