Chattogram city Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has announced that approximately 80% of the city has been cleared of floodwater. After inspecting various flood-affected areas, he confirmed that extensive measures have been implemented to expedite the drainage of floodwater. However, some low-lying areas remain inundated.
Ongoing Efforts and Community Feedback
The Mayor, accompanied by Ershad Ullah, MP, visited several waterlogged areas including Chandgaon Hajirpole, Chandgaon Residential Area, Balurtal, Ananya Residential, and Shamsherpara. During these visits, Mayor Hossain distributed relief items to affected families and discussed the progress of ongoing efforts to address the city’s waterlogging issues.
While inspecting these areas, the Mayor and the lawmaker gathered feedback from local residents. They sought information on the locations and reasons for water accumulation, the obstacles hindering drainage, and the necessary actions required for a swift resolution.
