South Asian Karate Championship: Dhaka Hosts Cadet, Junior, Under-21, and Senior Events

The 10th Cadet, Junior, Under-21 and Senior South Asian Karate Championship and the second South Asian Under-14 Karate Cup are set to begin on Saturday in Dhaka.

The 10th Cadet, Junior, Under-21 and Senior South Asian Karate Championship and the second South Asian Under-14 Karate Cup will commence in Dhaka from July 18-19. The two-day tournament is organized by the South Asian Karate Federation with the support of the Bangladesh Karate Federation (BKF).

Pre-tournament activities

Ahead of the championship, a two-day referee and coaches' licensing examination will begin on Thursday at the Parbotto Complex Auditorium in Dhaka. More than 150 referees and coaches from Bangladesh and several South Asian and Asian countries are expected to participate in the examination.

Tournament details

The championship will be held at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur. A total of 565 athletes from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka will compete in various categories. A press conference was held on Wednesday at the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Auditorium to provide all the details of the meet. Key officials from the BKF, including President Md. Shahzada Alam and General Secretary Md. Moyazzem Hossain Sentu, were present at the conference.
