The closing and award distribution ceremony of the first edition of the Notun Kuri Sports festival will be held tomorrow at 4:00 pm at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will be present at the event. The festival, which started on May 2, 2026, has seen the participation of over one lakh children and adolescents across the country.

The Notun Kuri Sports festival, aimed at discovering emerging athletes and inspiring young children to engage in sports, has made a significant impact on Bangladesh's sports scene. The event has successfully conducted upazila, district, and regional level competitions in eight different sports: football, cricket, kabaddi, athletics, badminton, chess, swimming, and martial arts.

The festival's journey began at the Sylhet District Stadium and has now reached its climax with the national finals in Dhaka. This initiative is expected to foster a new generation of athletes and promote sports culture among the youth in Bangladesh.
