France is already a champion in the upcoming World Cup, not by winning the trophy, but by having the highest number of players born in the country participating in the tournament. With 99 French-born footballers, France leads the way in player representation.
The World Cup, which begins tomorrow and concludes on July 19, will feature 1248 players across 48 teams. France's dominance in player production is evident as 76 of these 99 players will represent other nations, showcasing the global impact of French football academies.
French coach Didier Deschamps' 26-man squad includes 23 players born in France. The country's player development system benefits regions like Africa and the Caribbean, with Algeria, Haiti, DR Congo, and Senegal having significant numbers of French-born players. France's player export rate surpasses even football-mad nations like the Netherlands, Germany, and England.
