The government has appointed BNP leader Mohammad Mahbuber Rahman Shamim as the administrator of the Chattogram Zilla Parishad. According to a notification, Shamim will serve as the full-time administrator until further directives are issued under Section 82A (1) of the Zilla Parishad Act, 2000. He will exercise the powers and perform the functions of the Zilla Parishad chairman in accordance with Section 82A(3) of the Act and be entitled to allowances and other benefits as per the relevant regulations.

Currently, Shamim serves as the Organising Secretary of BNP's Chattogram Divisional Committee. He contested the 13th National Parliament election as a BNP candidate from the Noakhali-6 (Hatia) constituency. His appointment as administrator signifies an important role in the local governance of Chattogram, a significant city in Bangladesh.

The Zilla Parishad is a local government body in Bangladesh responsible for rural development and providing various public services. As administrator, Shamim will oversee the operations and initiatives of the Chattogram Zilla Parishad, working closely with local officials and community leaders to address the needs and concerns of the region.

This appointment is part of the government's efforts to ensure effective administration and governance at the local level. Shamim's experience as a political leader and his involvement in the BNP party will likely contribute to his role in managing the affairs of the Chattogram Zilla Parishad.

The notification did not provide specific details about the duration of Shamim's appointment or any immediate plans for the Chattogram Zilla Parishad under his administration. Further information may be released in the coming days to provide more clarity on his role and responsibilities.
