The Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat has issued a stern warning against a forged Demi-Official (D.O.) letter circulating in the name of the Deputy Speaker. This counterfeit document, complete with a fake signature, official letterhead, government logo, and memo number, has been used in attempts to secure undue advantages from various ministries and government offices.
In a press release, the Secretariat confirmed that the letter is not an authentic issuance of the Jatiya Sangsad and holds no connection to the Bangladesh Parliament. The unauthorized use of Parliament’s name, logo, official seal, or any other official identity through forgery to mislead government agencies or the public is a punishable offense under the law.
Following the detection of this forgery, the Secretariat has instructed the appropriate authorities to initiate legal action against those involved. The Parliament Secretariat has urged all government and private institutions, media organizations, and the general public to verify the authenticity of any D.O. letter or official correspondence purportedly issued in the name of the Bangladesh Parliament by contacting the relevant branch of the Parliament Secretariat before taking any action.
