BNP Joint Secretary General and lawmaker for Narsingdi-1 (Sadar) Khairul Kabir Khokon has cautioned that anyone attempting to exploit the spirit of the July movement for political advantage or 'to fish in troubled waters' would face consequences and fail to win public support. He made the remark at the District Shishu Academy auditorium during an event organized by the Narsingdi district unit BNP to mark the July 19 Narsingdi Prison Uprising Day.

"If anyone tries to sell the spirit of July and use it to fish in troubled waters, the consequences will not be good. The people will not stand by them," Khokon said. He emphasized that the BNP cherished the spirit of July and alleged that the current opposition was once again engaged in conspiracy.

Khokon claimed that the BNP had fought alongside others during the 17-year movement against the previous regime and asserted that the people were well aware of the contribution made by each political force. He criticized those who tried to equate the BNP with the Awami League, stating that such comparisons were unrealistic.

Several other Narsingdi district BNP leaders, including General Secretary and MP for Narsingdi-3 (Shibpur) Monjur Elahi, district BNP Vice Presidents, and other party leaders, also addressed the meeting. They echoed Khokon's sentiments, emphasizing the importance of preserving the true spirit of the July movement.
