Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan today commended the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) for its ongoing efforts to serve the country and its people, under the directives of the Prime Minister. He made these remarks while inaugurating a tree plantation and cleanliness drive at the National Institute of Health in Mohakhali, Dhaka, alongside the unveiling of Shaheed Wasim Akram Square.

JCD's Struggle and Sacrifice

Shafiqul Islam Khan highlighted that the present-day JCD was built through years of struggle and sacrifice, not overnight. He noted that its leaders and activists had endured immense hardships over the past 17 years. Many JCD leaders lost their lives due to persecution during the previous government's tenure, while thousands faced repression for participating in various movements and struggles.

"Their sacrifices and contributions should be remembered by the nation," he emphasized. The DNCC administrator inaugurated Shaheed Wasim Akram Square, stating that the sacrifice of July movement martyr Wasim Akram would remain unforgettable. He expressed hope that the establishment of the square would help the younger generation learn about and remember the martyr's contribution and sacrifice.

Event and Attendees

The event was attended by the Principal of the National Institute of Health, the president of the College Chhatra Dal, teachers, students, and people from various walks of life. The gathering underscored the significance of remembering and honoring the sacrifices made by JCD leaders and activists.
