The first meeting of the Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group of the 13th Parliament took place today in Dhaka, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and strategic partnerships.

The inaugural meeting of the Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group of the 13th Parliament was held today at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban in Dhaka. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, MP, who emphasized the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and China. Members of the committee, including Md. Shahidul Islam, Md. Hasan Rajib Pradhan, Jahrat Adib Chowdhury, Mahamuda Habiba, Mohammad Nazibur Rahman, Mohammad Mosleh Uddin Farid, and Md. Abul Hasnat, attended the session.

Discussions on Bilateral Relations and Strategic Partnership

During the meeting, members discussed the historical and friendly relations between Bangladesh and China. They reviewed China's growing importance in the current geopolitical context and emphasized the need to further strengthen the Bangladesh-China strategic partnership. The group also explored ways to promote bilateral exchanges of parliamentary delegations and increase Chinese investment to help reduce the bilateral trade imbalance.

Presence of Senior Officials

Senior officials from the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present at the meeting. The session began with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by an introduction of the members and preliminary discussions, as stated in a press release from the Parliament Secretariat.
