A seminar on skills development and safe migration of immigrant workers was held in Rampal today, aimed at encouraging youths from Mongla and Rampal upazilas to take necessary training on different trades to make them suitable for jobs abroad. State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam attended as chief guest at the seminar held at Sundarbans Mohila College auditorium.
Government Focus on Skill Development
Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam highlighted the government's efforts to build a skilled workforce and solve the country's unemployment problem. He emphasized the importance of training and employment abroad for the nation's prosperity, urging youths to earn occupational skills and learn the language of the respective country for overseas jobs.
Caution Against Brokers
Speakers at the seminar, including Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tamanna Ferdousi, additional director general of the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training Ashraf Hossain, Principal of Government Chitalmari Technical College, Director of Bagerhat Marine Academy, and manpower department officials, urged the youths not to be lured by brokers. Instead, they encouraged the youths to become skilled in various trades through necessary training before seeking employment abroad.
