The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced that the recruitment exam for 828 Senior Staff Nurse positions will be held in the last week of June. This exam aims to fill vacancies in government hospitals across the country. Initially, PSC had indicated that the exam might take place in May, but it has now been rescheduled for June.

The role of senior nurses is crucial in ensuring quality healthcare and managing hospital operations. Currently, there is a significant shortage of senior staff nurses, with nearly 2,000 positions vacant in government hospitals nationwide. This shortage is increasing the workload on existing nurses and affecting patient care.

The PSC published a recruitment notification for 828 permanent positions on August 31, 2023, with the application process closing on October 20, 2023. Thousands of nursing graduates and diploma holders have applied for these 10th-grade positions, which offer a salary scale of 16,000 to 38,640 Taka. The delay in announcing the exam date has caused uncertainty among applicants.
