In celebration of Tamil superstar and Chief Minister Vijay's birthday on June 22, the popular film 'Mersal' will be re-released in selected theaters in Chennai and Chengalpattu on June 19. Directed by Atlee, 'Mersal' was a major success upon its release in 2017, featuring Vijay in three roles and addressing themes of medical corruption and justice.

'Mersal', which also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, and SJ Suryah, was praised for its engaging storyline, performances, and music by AR Rahman. The film grossed approximately 200 crore rupees worldwide and was the first Tamil film to be released in China.
