University of Chankarpur: New Film on Dhaka University Campus Life Releases Today

University of Chankarpur, a film directed by Akash Hok based on his experiences at Dhaka University, releases today. The film highlights the political and social issues within the university system. It features a cast of current and former Dhaka University students.

Originally planned for Eid-ul-Azha release, the film was postponed due to competition. Akash Hok expressed confidence in the film's success, emphasizing the audience's current demand for quality cinema.

The film premiered at the 24th Dhaka International Film Festival in January, where it won the Best Film Award in the Bangladesh Panorama category. It later won the Hiralal Sen Award at the 'Amar Bhashar Cholochitro' festival at TSC.

Akash Hok, a former student of Dhaka University's Psychology Department, drew from his personal experiences living in crowded dormitories. The film was shot using natural light and minimal equipment, featuring actors like Debdyuti Aich, Rocky Khan, and Bobby Bishwas.
