Bangladeshi-American DJ and musician Sanjoy will perform at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony and be part of the official album. He announced this in a Facebook post. Sanjoy will join international artists like Nora Fatehi and Vegedream on the soundtrack titled 'Sir Sir'. The album also features global icons such as The Rolling Stones, Shakira, Daddy Yankee, Burna Boy, and Rema.
Sanjoy expressed his excitement, stating that this achievement is the result of a long-awaited dream. Growing up in a multicultural environment in San Jose, California, he began his music career with the aspiration of creating music for the world's biggest stages.
In his post, Sanjoy mentioned that performing at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony and being part of the official album is a matter of great pride. He also noted that this achievement is not just his own but an inspiration for young people with big dreams who work hard to achieve them.
Sanjoy, born in Srimangal but raised in Chittagong's Love Lane area, moved to the United States where the multicultural environment enriched his music. He comes from a musical family; his mother sang, and his grandmother was also involved in music.
