The critically acclaimed Tamil film 'Karuppu,' starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime starting June 12. The movie, directed by R.J. Balaji, combines mythological elements, courtroom drama, and commercial action. It features Suriya as the deity Vettai Karuppu, who takes human form as a lawyer to fight against corruption in the judicial system.
'Karuppu' was a massive success at the box office, grossing over 300 crore rupees worldwide since its release on May 15. It is now Suriya's highest-grossing film, surpassing his previous record with 'Singham 2' (2013). The film will be available in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, with a Telugu version titled 'VeerabhadruDu.'
Suriya expressed his gratitude for the film's success, hoping more global audiences would enjoy it. Critics attribute the film's success to its unique story, use of folklore, and courtroom drama, offering both a new experience and a social message to Tamil audiences.
