A group of young filmmakers, balancing corporate jobs with their passion for cinema, have released a collection of 10 short films on YouTube under the platform Friendly Neighborhood Filmmakers (FNF). These films, created with minimal budgets and limited resources, were first showcased in a special exhibition on May 30 last year, receiving positive feedback from audiences. Now, a year later, they are accessible to everyone online. The films include 'Hudaei Miss' by Jahidul Hoq Apu, 'Hamangkulas' by Ibne Noor Rakib, 'Soulmate' by Adel Imam Anup, 'Cha Chai' by Sheikh Korashoni, 'Telapoka' by Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhar, 'Lok' by Mahmuda Sultana Riima, 'In Another World' by Konak Khandkar, 'For Sale' by Fazle Rabbi, 'On the Contrary' by Imtiaz Hossain, and 'Ishpait' by Abir Ferdous Mukher. FNF plans to include more filmmakers in future seasons.
About the Films
The short films cover a variety of genres and stories. 'Lok' is a Bangladeshi folk horror film that has been showcased at multiple international film festivals. 'Soulmate' is narrated from the perspective of a shoe. 'Hudaei Miss' features a corporate employee and a genie, while 'Ishpait' is a romantic film. Notable actors like Rizvi Rizu and Ahmed Hasan Sani have also participated in these films.
