The romantic film 'Cocktail 2', starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, has recovered 50% of its budget before release. Directed by Homi Adajania, this sequel to the 2012 hit 'Cocktail' has earned approximately 75 crore rupees through pre-release deals for theatrical, digital, and music rights.
With a total budget of around 150 crore rupees, 'Cocktail 2' is one of the most expensive romantic films in Bollywood. The production cost was 95 crore rupees, with an additional 35 crore rupees spent on the stars' fees and 20 crore rupees on promotion and advertising.
Producer Dinesh Vijan has produced the film on a large scale, shooting in various picturesque locations worldwide within 70 days. The film aims to offer a visually stunning experience with attractive locations, music, and styling.
There were rumors on social media about a same-sex relationship between Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in the film. The film's team addressed this during the trailer launch, clarifying that it was a humorous suggestion from the unit members based on the actresses' friendship during shooting.
'Cocktail 2' is set to release on June 19. Directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Maddock Films, the film features a new story unrelated to the original 'Cocktail'.
