Film actor Bapparaj has confirmed to Prothom Alo that he will not participate in the upcoming election of the Bangladesh Film Artists' Association. He cited personal reasons, including business commitments, for his decision. Bapparaj had previously announced his candidacy for the president's position for the 2026-28 term.

Bapparaj stated, 'I have some personal reasons, including business commitments. If I cannot dedicate time after being elected, it would not be appropriate. Hence, I have decided to withdraw from the election.'
