Khulna University Honors Mir Mugdha on Second Martyrdom Anniversary

Khulna University (KU) is set to observe the second martyrdom anniversary of Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdha, a student who was killed during the July Uprising.

Khulna University (KU) is organizing a daylong programme on July 18 to commemorate the second martyrdom anniversary of Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdha, a student from the 2019 batch who was killed during the July Uprising. The event will feature a photo exhibition, tree plantation, discussion, and a special prayer. The university has urged teachers, students, officers, employees, and all concerned to participate in the programmes.

The day's activities will commence at 9 am with a photo exhibition on the July Movement at the Odommo Bangla Square. Following this, a tree plantation programme will be held at the Odommo Bangla premises at 9:30 am.

A discussion titled 'From the July Revolution to a New Democratic Bangladesh' is scheduled for 10 am at the Journalist Liaquat Ali Auditorium. The event will conclude with a special prayer offered after Maghrib prayers at the university's central mosque.

Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdha, a promising student of Khulna University, was tragically killed during the July Uprising. His martyrdom has become a symbol of the struggle for democracy and justice in Bangladesh. The university's commemorative programmes aim to honor his memory and continue the fight for a democratic Bangladesh.

The university's efforts to remember Mir Mugdha reflect the ongoing commitment to uphold the values of democracy and justice. By engaging the community in these programmes, KU aims to foster a culture of remembrance and activism among its students and faculty.
