Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo today called upon businesspeople to contribute to the country's economic development through expansion of their businesses. The minister made the call while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected executive committee of the Feni Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) for the 2026-2028 terms as the chief guest.
Role of Business Community
Mintoo highlighted the responsibility of the business community in increasing the country's wealth. He underscored the undeniable contribution of businesspeople in creating new employment opportunities and driving overall economic progress.
Criticism and Compliance
The minister criticized the indiscriminate condemnation of all businesspeople, noting that many conduct their businesses by following rules and regulations. He praised the contributions of compliant businesses to the country's progress.
Mintoo emphasized that a country's economic growth and increase in wealth can only be achieved through trade, commerce, and investment. He also noted that while wealth can be distributed, poverty cannot be shared in the same manner.
At the event, Mintoo delivered a guiding speech on environment-friendly sustainable development, expansion of regional trade and commerce, and the overall economic progress of the country.
