Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) has announced a record budget of Tk 1,060 crore for the 2026-27 fiscal year, marking the 15th budget of the city corporation and the largest in its history. The budget was formally announced by NCC Administrator Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan at the Nagar Bhaban auditorium. This is a significant increase from the previous fiscal year's budget of Tk 775.33 crore.

The new budget prioritizes reducing public suffering, with focus areas including road and drain construction, expansion of safe water supply, modernization of waste management, canal restoration, mitigation of waterlogging, dengue control, reduction of traffic congestion, environmental protection, and tree plantation.

The principal source of financing for the budget is the city corporation's own revenue earnings. Other key sources include income from the water supply sector, government development assistance, foreign-assisted projects, and allocations under the Annual Development Programme (ADP).

The budget announcement was attended by notable figures including Narayanganj-5 lawmaker Abul Kalam, Chairman of Narayanganj Development Authority Masukul Islam, Administrator of Narayanganj Zila Parishad Professor Mamun Mahmud, and leaders from various political and social organizations. Urban planner Moinul Islam moderated the event.
