State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury has been included in the high-level cabinet committee formed to conduct a detailed review and finalize the draft of the Cyber Security (Amendment) Act, 2026. His inclusion, announced via a gazette notification on July 8, brings the total number of committee members to six. Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam leads the committee as its convener.

Committee Members and Roles

The committee comprises several key ministers. Alongside Faqir Mahbub Anam and Yasser Khan Choudhury, it includes Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman. The committee has the authority to co-opt additional members as needed to facilitate its work.

Terms of Reference and Support

According to the committee's terms of reference, it may co-opt any suitable person as a member whenever necessary. Meetings will be held as required, and the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology will provide secretarial support to ensure smooth operation and documentation of the committee's activities.
