Soheli Islam, 42, died after falling from a rickshaw when two helmeted motorcyclists attempted to snatch her vanity bag near Shahid Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka on June 7. She suffered severe injuries, including a broken right hand and a serious head wound, and passed away four days later while under treatment.

Soheli, a medical service officer at SKF Pharmaceutical Company, was returning home with her daughter after attending a family event in Dinajpur. She boarded a rickshaw from Gabtoli after arriving in Dhaka via bus. The incident occurred as she was passing the hospital gate.

Local bystanders helped take her to the hospital, but she was later transferred to multiple facilities due to the severity of her injuries. Soheli's brother-in-law, Tarique Islam, stated that no legal action has been taken yet, but they plan to file a case once the situation stabilizes.

Soheli's death has left her daughter, a university student, devastated. The family is now considering legal steps to address the incident.
