Two Fatalities Reported in Jashore Tractor-Motorcycle Collision

Two motorcycle riders were killed and another seriously injured in a head-on collision with a tractor in Jashore's Sharsha upazila on Monday morning.

Two motorcycle riders were killed and another seriously injured in a head-on collision between a tractor and a motorcycle in Sharsha upazila of Jashore district on Monday morning. The accident occurred around 6:00 am in Salam Mor area under Goga union of the upazila.

Incident Details

The motorcycle, carrying three riders, was travelling towards Rudrapur in Sharsha when it collided head-on with a tractor on the Rudrapur-Goga road. Two riders died on the spot.

Identification and Response

The deceased were identified as Nahid, 40, son of Jahangir Bhandari of Sujalpur village in Jashore Sadar upazila and Usha, 30, son of Jamat Ali of Balunda village under Benapole Port Police Station. Locals rescued another rider, who sustained critical injuries, and rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police recovered the bodies after being informed of the incident.

Legal Proceedings

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamimul Islam of Sharsha Police Station confirmed the matter, saying that legal proceedings are underway.
