The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain in various parts of the country within the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am. According to a Met office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderately heavy rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in Certain Areas

The bulletin also mentioned that heavy to very heavy falls may occur at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. This indicates that some areas may experience significant rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding and disruptions.

Stable Temperatures Forecasted

Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country. The highest temperature recorded on Saturday was 34.5 degrees Celsius in Sayedpur, while the minimum temperature today is 23.7 degrees Celsius in Narayanganj.

Recent Rainfall Data

In the last 24 hours, ending at 6 am today, the highest rainfall of 132 millimeters was recorded in Patuakhali. This indicates that some regions have already experienced substantial rain, which may continue as per the forecast.

Sunrise and Sunset Timings

For Dhaka, the sun is set to rise at 5.19 am tomorrow and will set at 6.49 pm today. These timings are crucial for planning daily activities and understanding the daylight duration.

Why This Matters

The forecasted rain is significant for Bangladesh as it can impact daily life, agriculture, and transportation. Farmers may need to adjust their schedules, while urban areas might face challenges with drainage and traffic. Additionally, the rain can help alleviate any ongoing drought conditions but may also pose risks if the rainfall is excessive.
