A pesticide shop in Rajshahi has been fined Tk 10,000 by a mobile court for selling expired, unapproved, and overpriced pesticides. The operation, conducted at Messrs Bhai Bon Traders in Dhurail Bazar, Mohanpur upazila, was led by Mohanpur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Zobaida Sultana, with assistance from the Upazila Agriculture Department and Mohanpur Police Station.

Operation Details

During the drive, it was found that the shop was selling expired products, tampering with product labels, and selling unapproved pesticides. These findings led to the imposition of the fine under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.

Officials Present

Mohanpur Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Shubho Bhowmik, Sub-Assistant Plant Protection Officer Mostafa Kamal, Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officers, and other relevant officials were present during the operation.
