In a daylight robbery in Motijheel, Dhaka, the victim, a money exchange businessman, was shot and robbed. No case has been filed yet, and the perpetrators remain unidentified. The incident occurred in front of Janata Bank at Shapla Chattar around 3 PM on Sunday. The victim, Mo. Lokman, was shot in the right hand and leg and is currently under treatment at Mugda Medical College Hospital.
According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner NM Nasiruddin, no case has been filed yet regarding the robbery. Efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest those involved. The victim's son-in-law, Mo. Rakib, stated that a case will be filed once the victim recovers. The bag contained 17,000 USD.
Witnesses reported that two individuals on motorcycles attempted to rob the victim. During the struggle, the victim was shot, causing bystanders to flee in panic. The robbers then took the bag and escaped on their motorcycles. Police are analyzing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators, who are believed to be part of a larger gang.
