Defeated Parliament Candidate Motahaher Hossain Named First Chairman of Mymensingh Development Authority

Motahaher Hossain Talukdar, who contested and lost in the recent national parliament election, has been appointed as the first chairman of the newly formed Mymensingh Development Authority (MoUK).

Motahaher Hossain Talukdar, who contested in the 13th national parliament election under the paddy sheaf symbol and was defeated, has been appointed as the first chairman of the newly formed Mymensingh Development Authority (MoUK). The government issued a notification on Thursday night appointing him to the position.

The notification, signed by Additional Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry's Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch, Golam Rabbani, stated that Motahaher Hossain Talukdar has been appointed as the chairman of MoUK for one year under the Mymensingh Development Authority Act, 2026, section 8(1). He must relinquish any other professional, business, or governmental, semi-governmental, or non-governmental organizational affiliations.

In a phone conversation with Prothom Alo, Motahaher Hossain Talukdar expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the Prime Minister and pledged to work diligently to uphold that trust. He emphasized his desire to contribute to the development of Mymensingh and transform it into a planned and aesthetically pleasing city.
