After a prolonged wait, Jagannath University has finally distributed special scholarship checks to 10,124 students. An event was held on Thursday at the Vice-Chancellor's office, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Rois Uddin. Symbolic checks were handed to two students from each faculty, with the scholarship amounts to be transferred to the bank accounts of all eligible students. Each student will receive 9,000 Taka. The Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction in fulfilling this long-standing demand of the students, despite the delay of 14 months. He acknowledged the efforts of all involved in making this possible. The university has faced various challenges and student protests in the past to address these issues. Although the previous government had promised to disburse these scholarships, it did not materialize. The current administration has now managed to deliver on this promise.
