India's new High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, has arrived in the country via the Benapole-Petrapole land port. He entered Bangladesh on Friday around 11:30 AM. Indian High Commission and Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry officials confirmed his arrival.
Dinesh Trivedi, a former Indian Union Minister and BJP leader, will replace Pranay Verma as the High Commissioner. Verma has been appointed as India's Ambassador to Belgium.
Trivedi, accompanied by his wife Mrinal Trivedi, will travel from Jessore to Dhaka. This marks the first time India has appointed a politician as High Commissioner to Bangladesh.
