The International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) has ordered the authorities to produce Major (retd) Mozaffar Hossain, an accused in the assassination case of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, before the tribunal on July 23. The order was passed by the tribunal, headed by Justice Nozrul Islam Chowdhury, allowing a plea filed by the Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam.

According to the Chief Prosecutor, Major Mozaffar had connections with Lt Gen (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury, who is an accused in a crimes against humanity case linked to the July Mass Uprising. The Chief Prosecutor stated that these connections need to be probed and thus sought a production warrant to interrogate Major Mozaffar.

Major (Retd) Md Mozaffar Hossain was arrested by the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police from the capital's DOHS area on July 15 and later handed over to Military Police at Dhaka Cantonment.

The case against Major Mozaffar is significant as it pertains to the assassination of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, a pivotal figure in Bangladesh's history. The proceedings aim to bring justice to the historical event and ensure accountability for those involved.
