The Hobby Carnival-02, organized at Green Lounge Restaurant and Convention Center in Purana Paltan, Dhaka, seeks to foster collecting interests among the new generation. Initiated by collector Mohammad Kamrul Islam, the event featured 25 collectors from various parts of the country showcasing a diverse array of items including coins, banknotes, stamps, matchboxes, typewriters, magazines, cameras, pens, and watches. The carnival, which ran from 10 AM to 7 PM, aimed to divert young people from mobile addiction towards creative activities. Notable participants included Shahriar Zarif, a fifth-grade student who showcased his own collection, and seasoned collectors like Motashim Billah and Abid Mallik. The event also highlighted plans for future school-based collecting clubs.
