State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat announced that the government is establishing a pilot training academy in Bogura. This initiative aims to develop skilled aviation professionals and support the country's growing aviation industry. Millat made the remarks during US-Bangla Airlines' 'Beyond with Boeing' programme.

The pilot training academy is part of the government's broader strategy to develop Bangladesh's aviation sector and transform the country into a regional aviation hub under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Millat emphasized the importance of this initiative in meeting the country's increasing demand for air travel.

At the event, US-Bangla Airlines unveiled a $1.5 billion fleet expansion plan to add 21 Boeing aircraft by the end of 2027. This expansion includes 15 Boeing 737-8 and six Boeing 737-800 aircraft, significantly expanding the airline's international network.

Millat also highlighted ongoing airport infrastructure development, noting that Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) will be able to handle up to 24 million passengers annually with the Third Terminal. He congratulated US-Bangla Airlines on its 12 years of operations and its growth into one of Bangladesh's leading international carriers.

The establishment of the pilot training academy in Bogura is expected to enhance Bangladesh's aviation capacity, improve travel for passengers, and strengthen the country's position as a regional aviation hub.
