The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 387 people in separate drives across the capital over the last 24 hours and filed 45 cases, according to a DMP press release issued today. The arrests were made in various divisions including Ramna, Lalbagh, Wari, Motijheel, Tejgaon, Mirpur, Gulshan, Uttara, and the Detective Branch (DB).
During the operations, police seized 11,850 yaba tablets, 47 kilograms of cannabis, four mobile phones, 10 sacks of polythene, an engine-powered van, and Tk 10,000 in cash allegedly linked to drug trafficking. The drives primarily targeted drug-related offences and other criminal activities.
The suspects were arrested during operations conducted in different police station areas across the capital. Legal action against the arrestees is underway.
This crackdown reflects the DMP's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and other criminal activities in Dhaka, aiming to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the city.
