Dhaka ranks second in global air pollution today, according to IQAir. The city's air quality index (AQI) stands at 167, classified as 'unhealthy'. Kampala in Uganda tops the list with an AQI of 173. Rain usually improves air quality, but Dhaka's pollution remains high, especially in areas like Agargaon, Abdullahbagh, and Gulshan.
IQAir advises residents to wear masks, avoid outdoor exercise, and keep windows closed to mitigate the effects of pollution. The organization regularly monitors and reports air pollution levels worldwide.
