The processions, featuring colorful motorcycles adorned with flags, jerseys, and slogans, took place in Bels Park and surrounding areas. Fans from both teams gathered, creating a joyful and celebratory atmosphere despite their teams' historical rivalry.
Supporters from various parts of the city converged at Bels Park, with Argentina fans in sky-blue jerseys and flags, and Brazil fans in yellow-green jerseys and flags, conducting separate parades. The processions traversed key roads such as Sadar Road, Chokbazar, Nathullabad, Banglabazar, and Fazlul Haque Avenue before returning to Bels Park.
Witnesses noted that fans were enthusiastic, chanting slogans and singing songs in support of their respective teams. Many motorcycles displayed large flags of Argentina and Brazil, and some carried banners featuring favorite football stars. Pedestrians and onlookers enjoyed the spectacle, with many capturing photos and videos on their smartphones.
Upon gathering at Bels Park, supporters from both teams engaged in friendly banter and slogan exchanges, maintaining a festive and friendly environment despite their teams' competitive history. An Argentina supporter remarked, 'Football is not just a game; it's an emotion. We organized this event to express our love for our favorite team and bring supporters together.' A Brazil supporter added, 'There are many football lovers in Barisal. It feels good to organize such an event after a long time. This is not about rivalry but about sharing the joy of football.'
Mahbub Morshed (Shamim), a sports organizer in Barisal, commented, 'Such positive events centered around sports spread messages of goodwill and harmony among young people. Although the rivalry between Argentina and Brazil in international football is longstanding, this large-scale festive parade with supporters from both teams is a first for Barisal. The event has turned into a unique source of joy and celebration for the city's sports enthusiasts.'
