In the wake of last week's 4.7-magnitude earthquake in the Naples region, Italy has announced an immediate allocation of 100 million euros to address the resulting damage. This substantial financial aid aims to support the affected communities in their recovery efforts. The quake, the most severe to hit the area in the last four decades, resulted in 26 injuries and forced nearly 700 residents to evacuate their homes.
Civil protection minister Nello Musumeci revealed that the funds will be directed towards repairing the extensive damage to infrastructure and homes. Approximately 395 homes have been deemed uninhabitable by emergency services. Out of the 700 evacuated individuals, 568 have secured alternative housing, while 128 remain in temporary hotel accommodations.
