Injury Setbacks
Bangladesh's pace attack has been hit by a series of injury setbacks in the lead-up to the two-Test series. Nahid Rana has already been ruled out of the tour after sustaining a side strain. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said the left-arm pacer will require one month of complete rest followed by another month of rehabilitation before returning to action.

Shoriful Islam is also racing against time to recover from injury and remains doubtful for the opening Test, while wicketkeeper-batter Liton Das is expected to miss the series opener because of injury. The injuries have left Bangladesh with limited pace-bowling resources as they prepare for their first Test tour of Australia in 23 years.

The Bangladesh squad is scheduled to depart for Australia on August 1 and will play a warm-up match before the series begins. The first Test will be played in Darwin from August 13, while the second and final Test is scheduled for August 22 in Mackay.
