Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz said his side would carry the confidence from their emphatic victory in the third ODI into the upcoming T20I series. However, he admitted that the team still has room for improvement after losing the three-match ODI series 2-1 to Zimbabwe.
Strong Finish in ODIs
Bangladesh wrapped up the ODI campaign with a convincing seven-wicket victory after suffering defeats in the opening two matches. "The boys played really well today," Miraz said after the match. "Taskin and Shoriful bowled brilliantly and gave us a great start. Our fast bowlers-Nahid, Taskin and Shoriful-took responsibility throughout the series and performed really well."
Key Partnerships
Miraz also praised the opening pair of Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Soumya Sarkar, whose 151-run stand laid the foundation for Bangladesh's comfortable chase of 200. "It was a great partnership. We won the match, and that gives us momentum going forward," he said.
Areas for Improvement
Despite ending the ODI series on a winning note, the Bangladesh captain insisted that adapting to Zimbabwean conditions remained a challenge for his side. "We have to improve in a few areas. These are new conditions, and I hope in the future we think more about how to play in these conditions," he added.
Zimbabwe's Perspective
Richard Ngarava expressed satisfaction after leading his side to ODI series victory over Bangladesh on his first assignment as Zimbabwe captain. "It was quite important to start with a win, and the group is quite happy about it," Ngarava said. "It's quite special to see the younger players performing. Hopefully, they will continue to do so for a long time. We haven't achieved all the goals we had, but winning the series is quite nice."
Player of the Series
Zimbabwe all-rounder Brad Evans, who was named Player of the Series after scoring back-to-back half-centuries, said he was pleased to see his hard work paying off despite the defeat in the final match. "It's a bit disappointing to lose the last game, but we tried our best," Evans said. "I've worked hard with the coaches and it's still a work in progress. I'm happy to see the rewards. Now it's another series and another opportunity in the T20Is."
