The four-day 38th National Age Group Swimming and Diving Championship-2026 commenced on Saturday at the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex in Mirpur. The event, which runs from July 11 to 14, features 106 events, including 100 swimming and six diving events. On the opening day, a total of 23 swimming events and two diving events were held, producing six new national records—five in swimming and one in diving.
Inauguration and Key Attendees
State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque inaugurated the championship as the chief guest, according to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release. Bangladesh Swimming Federation President and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan attended as the special guest, while Federation General Secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman Shaheen presided over the opening ceremony.
Day One Highlights
BKSP finished the day at the top of the medal table with 15 gold, 11 silver, and six bronze medals. Meghna Mohona Swimming Club of Chandpur and Nikli Swimming Club of Kushtia shared second place with three gold medals each.
