The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) will visit the graves of martyrs and meet their family members across the country on July 28 and 29 to pay tribute to the heroes of the historic July mass uprising. During the two-day nationwide program, JCD leaders will also hand over gift items on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to the families of the martyrs, according to a JCD press release.
Led by the JCD Central Executive Committee, leaders and activists from all university, district, city corporation, upazila, college, and municipal units will simultaneously take part in the campaign. They will offer prayers seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of the martyrs, honor their sacrifices and stand by their bereaved families.
This initiative is part of JCD's month-long programs announced to mark the second anniversary of the historic July uprising. The month-long observances aim to honor the martyrs and injured, preserve historical memories, recognize the contributions of all stakeholders, consolidate anti-fascist national unity and celebrate the victory.
Earlier, JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir announced the month-long programme on behalf of the central committee.
