Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi has expressed that New Delhi is eagerly looking forward to welcoming Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to India, hoping the visit will take place soon. Trivedi stated that the visit's timing would depend on the Bangladesh premier’s priorities. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Rahman to attend the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi as a special guest.

Trivedi made these remarks while responding to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following meetings with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam. The 18th BRICS Summit is scheduled for September 12-13 in New Delhi.

The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral ties between India and Bangladesh. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's participation in the BRICS Summit as a special guest underscores the importance of Bangladesh in regional and global affairs.
