Chandpur to Provide Vitamin A to Over 366,000 Children

Chandpur district is set to administer Vitamin A to 366,881 children to prevent malnutrition-related blindness and boost immunity.

Chandpur district will administer Vitamin A to 366,881 children this year to prevent malnutrition-related blindness, support physical development, enhance immunity, reduce mortality risk, and prevent night blindness. This was announced by Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Nur Alam at a press briefing held at Chandpur Press Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Campaign Details

The national Vitamin A Plus campaign will be held on June 28. Children aged 6 to 11 months will receive blue Vitamin A capsules, while those aged 12 to 59 months will receive red capsules. The campaign will run from 8 AM to 4 PM at 2,332 vaccination centers across the district's eight upazilas and two municipalities.

Dr. Nur Alam emphasized the importance of breastfeeding and providing homemade balanced meals once children reach six months of age. He also called for collaboration with other ministries, media, and stakeholders to ensure the campaign's success.
