RUET MSE Department Signs MoUs with Four Industries to Boost Job-Oriented Skills

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with four industrial institutions.

RAJSHAHI - The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with four industrial institutions to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and enhance students' job-oriented skills. The MoUs were signed at the Vice-Chancellor's conference room on Tuesday. Prof. Aminul Islam, head of the MSE department, signed the agreements on behalf of RUET.

Collaboration Details

Under the agreements, RUET and the industrial partners will collaborate on industrial attachments, internships, and technical training for students. They will also undertake industry-sponsored research projects, joint research, product development, testing, and technological innovation.

Benefits for Students and Industry

The initiative will facilitate consultancy and technical support from RUET faculty to help industries address technical challenges. Industry experts will also conduct workshops, seminars, and technical training programs for students and faculty. The partners will work together to modernize the university's curriculum in line with industry needs and strengthen laboratories and infrastructure through equipment and other technical support.

Future Prospects

The agreements also provide for joint applications for national and international research grants, technology transfer, commercialization of innovations, and intellectual property development. The industrial partners will explore direct recruitment and career opportunities for RUET graduates as well. The two sides may undertake other academic and industry-related initiatives in the future by mutual consent.

Speakers at the ceremony said the collaboration would help improve the quality of education at RUET while supplying the country's industrial sector with skilled and experienced engineers. Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, IQAC Director Prof. Dr. Md. Imdadul Haque, Prof. Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Acting Registrar Arif Ahmed Chowdhury, and owners and representatives of the concerned industrial institutions were present at the ceremony.
