Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) today held vibrant orientation programmes for first-year undergraduate (honours) students admitted for the 2025-26 academic year. The event, held in a festive atmosphere, saw all 22 departments under the university's six faculties organizing separate orientation sessions to welcome the newly admitted students.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali visited various departments, delivering motivational speeches to the freshers. He highlighted the importance of the new students as the lifeblood of the university and future architects of a prosperous Bangladesh. Dr Ali urged the students to contribute to BRUR's progress through academic and research excellence.

The Vice-Chancellor reassured the students that the university administration is vigilant to prevent any form of discrimination or ragging. He encouraged the freshers to develop habits of regular study, punctuality, and timely class attendance from the start of their university life. As a gesture of welcome, Dr Ali presented flowers and gifts to the students.

During the sessions, teachers provided detailed guidance on the university, academic curriculum, examination system, and various facilities, including the library. Deans of different faculties, heads of departments, teachers, and newly admitted students attended the programmes, creating a warm and inclusive environment for the freshers.

The orientation programmes at BRUR not only introduced the students to their new academic home but also set the tone for a supportive and discrimination-free environment, crucial for their growth and success in the coming years.
