Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted extensive operations across the capital, resulting in the arrest of 446 individuals over the past 24 hours. During these operations, police filed 56 cases and seized various illicit items, including drugs and weapons.
Breakdown of Arrests and Seizures
The arrests were spread across several divisions: 21 from Ramna, 38 from Lalbagh, 104 from Wari, 49 from Motijheel, 74 from Tejgaon, 83 from Mirpur, 38 from Gulshan, 35 from Uttara, and four by the Detective Branch (DB). The police also confiscated one foreign-made pistol with a magazine, 3,755 yaba tablets, 9.005 kilograms of cannabis, seven grams of heroin, one microbus, one cutter, one knife, five mobile phones, and one motorcycle.
Ongoing Anti-Crime Efforts
These arrests are part of the DMP's ongoing anti-crime operations, which include targeted drives against narcotics. Legal proceedings are currently underway for the arrested individuals. The operations reflect the police's commitment to maintaining law and order in the city.
