In a major 24-hour operation, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 377 individuals and filed 41 cases across the capital. The operation, carried out by DMP's eight divisions and the Detective Branch (DB), targeted various criminal activities. Mirpur Division recorded the highest number of arrests with 85, followed by Tejgaon with 64 and Wari with 55.
During the raids, police seized 3,030 yaba tablets, 55.23kg of cannabis, and 1,200 bottles of phensedyl. Additional items recovered included a private car, two microbuses, a lock-cutting machine, six mobile phones, and Tk 330 in cash. The detainees were arrested in separate operations across different police station areas in Dhaka.
The operation underscores the DMP's ongoing efforts to combat crime and maintain law and order in the city. The significant number of arrests and seizures highlights the prevalence of illegal activities in certain areas of Dhaka.
This crackdown is part of a broader initiative by the DMP to address criminal elements within the city. The success of this operation may lead to further actions aimed at ensuring public safety and reducing criminal activities in Dhaka.
