Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has announced that the government is taking steps to simplify the licensing process for the industrial and business sector. This initiative aims to create new entrepreneurs and foster an investment-friendly environment. The streamlined process will enable entrepreneurs to obtain licenses more quickly and easily, contributing to the development of new industrial and business establishments in the country.
Dulu made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the Lalmonirhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Chamber Building. He emphasized that the new measures will eliminate unnecessary harassment and complications in obtaining licenses, ensuring a more entrepreneur-friendly environment.
Goals and Benefits
The minister highlighted that the government's primary goal is to increase employment and further accelerate the local economy. By simplifying the licensing process, the government hopes to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and encourage more individuals to enter the entrepreneurial space.
Additional Development Plans
Dulu also mentioned that the government is working on various plans to reopen the Mogolhat Land Port in Lalmonirhat, which has been closed for a long time. Additionally, efforts will be made to develop communication infrastructure to expand the commercial activities of Burimari Land Port in Lalmonirhat. These initiatives are expected to give new momentum to trade and commerce in the northern region and create more employment opportunities.

The AGM was presided over by Lalmonirhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Alhaj Sheikh Abdul Hamid. Special guests included Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Rashedul Haque Pradhan, District Council Administrator AKM Mominul Haque, and Superintendent of Police Md Asaduzzaman. The event also saw the oath-taking of the newly elected Board of Directors (2026-2028) members. Earlier in the day, the minister inspected the ongoing development projects of the adjoining Kurigram district.
