Commerce, Industries, Textiles and Jute Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir announced that the government plans to establish a new industrial park on around 400 acres of land in Bogura. The initiative aims to meet the growing demand of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and to develop Bogura into a major industrial and economic hub, particularly for the light engineering industry.

Speaking as the chief guest at a program organized by the Bogura Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muktadir highlighted that the existing BSCIC industrial estate in Bogura has reached full capacity. To accommodate new industries, the government will start the development work of the proposed industrial park during the current winter season.

The minister emphasized the need for increased productivity and reduced financing costs to enhance the competitiveness of industries. He stated that the government is working on creating necessary infrastructure, simplifying gas connections, and ensuring easy availability of energy and electricity for industrial entrepreneurs.

Muktadir also mentioned that the proposed industrial park will offer technical training, skilled manpower development, and necessary information and technical support for setting up industries. Entrepreneurs in the park will have opportunities to obtain loans at comparatively lower interest rates under the government's credit wholesaling scheme.

The event was inaugurated by Road Transport and Bridges Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam, with State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam attending as a special guest. Several MPs, government officials, and business representatives were also present, underscoring the significance of the new industrial park for Bogura's economic growth.
